CANIPUR - gravid is a feed supplement which guarantees comprehensive and well-balanced nutrient supply for pregnant and lactating bitches.
Beginning in the fifth week of pregnancy, the foetus increases greatly in weight and size.
It is therefore absolutely essential that, in order to promote optimal growth and healthy development of the foetus,
the diet of the bitch be rich in vital elements during the final weeks of pregnancy.
Because the birth process places the dam under considerable stress, she needs optimal supply of vitamins, minerals,
trace elements and energy carriers in order to prevent disorders from occurring while delivering her puppies(uterine inertia, eclampsia, anaemia etc.).
During lactation, another steep rise in energy and nutrient requirements occurs, as the nutrients are given to the puppies via the milk.
Deficient supply during this phase results in emaciation of the bitch, and for the puppies, in susceptibility to infection and developmental disorders.

Medium dogs (16-39 kg) 20-40 g per day
Large dogs (40-80 kg) 40-80 g per day
given with the feed.
Due to the increased content of vitamin D3 and trace elements daily ration should not be more than doubled.
Feeding period
In order to achieve optimal development of the foetus in the uterus of the bitch, as well as good birth weights, the pregnant bitch should begin intake
of CANIPUR - gravid during the 5th week of pregnancy and should continue until the puppies are weaned.
General findings of nutritional science
Proteins and essential amino acids - are indispensable building blocks for the development of the foetus and for milk production.
That's why it's so very important during pregnancy and lactation to ensure a regular supply of high-quality proteins and amino acids from animal as well as vegetable
sources in uniform quality such as that provided by a combination of whey powder, soybean meal, corn gluten, lysine and methionine.
Calcium, phosphorus and magnesium - are the main factors for ensuring development, strength and durability of bones, joints and teeth.
A lack of calcium for the dam results in disorders during the birth process (eclampsia) and diminished milk production and lower concentrations of calcium in the milk itself.
This can result in irreversible deformities of bones and joints in the puppies.
For this reason it is essential to maintain blood and milk calcium at consistent levels and to provide your dog with a regular supply of quickly and reliably resorbed calcium.
This requirement is met when calcium is provided as a chelated compound in which organic calcium is bound to amino acids. In this form,
it is aborted into the blood from the intestinal tract and immediately transported to the locations where calcium is needed, at the same time placing important amino acids at the body's disposal.
Dextrose - is an easily absorbed carbohydrate that compensates for lack of energy and at the same time plays an important role in the synthesis of lactose (milk sugar) for lactation.
Wheat bran - is effective in regulating intestinal tract activity, which is often reduced towards the end of pregnancy.
Molasses - are extremely rich in glucose and electrolytes, making this substance an appetising and highly potent energy carrier that also supplies essential electrolytes such as potassium and sodium.
Unsaturated essential fatty acids - from high-quality vegetable oils are the basic substance for numerous essential tissue hormones and indispensable building blocks for organ and tissue cells.
Vitamins and trace elements - play a key role in the formation of new life.
As they can only be stored by the organism for a short period, regular supply is an essential prerequisite for optimal care
of the pregnant bitch and thus for optimal care of foetus and puppies (via the dam's milk).
